Abstract Chain Shutdown: What NFT Collectors Should Do Now
Source: NFT Culture — Read the original ↗
Summary
Abstract, the consumer Ethereum layer 2 built by Pudgy Penguins parent Igloo, will shut down on December 15, 2026, and assets left on it after that date will be inaccessible. Users can exit through the official Migration Hub and native bridge, with Stargate, Relay and Jumper listed as alternatives. NFTs are not a one-click move and may need action from each project or issuer. Igloo CEO Luca Netz said the company lost tens of millions funding the chain and chose not to launch a token to keep it alive.
Key points
- Shutdown announced Oct. 6, effective Dec. 15, 2026.
- Original Pudgy Penguins NFTs (Ethereum) and PENGU (Solana) are not on Abstract.
- Abstract warns of impersonators and fake migration sites.
- It follows Blast's shutdown announcement on Oct. 2.
Why it matters: Anyone holding NFTs or tokens on Abstract has a hard deadline to move them, and should only use official migration links.
